Hy-Vee, Inc. and Nashville recording artist, David Joseph, have joined forces to raise funds for the National Fisher House Foundation (Fisher House). Similar to the Ronald McDonald House, Fisher House provides housing for military families so they can be with their loved ones during hospitalization. With a March-April promotion in place at nearly 200 Hy-Vee supermarket stores, a portion of the proceeds made from the sale of Joseph's eleven song CD, "I'm Coming Home," will go directly to Fisher House. Hy-Vee has included a $2 coupon for Joseph's military tribute CD in their monthly coupon book, which has a distribution of one million people. With a 40 second in-house commercial playing in many Hy-Vee store locations plus extensive promotional materials and display units to showcase the CD/DVD two pack, Joseph feels confident that Fisher House will experience increased revenue from this promotion.
David Joseph visiting the Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Joseph gave away 100 DVD Players and several hundred DVD's to some of our nations most severely injured soldiers.
Joseph has always been passionate about his support for the military. After 80 performances at 40 military bases across the country and over 25,000 free DVD's distributed to the troops and their families, Joseph wanted to affect the lives of this community more directly. Fisher House provides comfort homes for injured or ill soldiers on major military bases and VA medical centers at no cost, enabling friends and families to be with their loved ones during treatment. It was clear to both Joseph and Hy-Vee that Fisher House was one of the best ways to contribute to the military community in a meaningful way.
"It was after a performance at the Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), a trauma one facility in San Antonio, Texas, that I had the opportunity to meet some of our nation's most severely wounded heroes," says Joseph. "The experience had a deep, moving effect on me. BAMC showed me just how important it is for soldiers and their families to be together during the long road to recovery. Fisher House gives these folks exactly what they need and doesn't ask for a dime. I wanted to contribute to that beautiful gift and Hy-Vee was generous enough to work with me on this promotion."
Hy-Vee's $2 coupon can be redeemed as late as April 15, but Joseph will contribute proceeds indefinitely. More information about Joseph can be found at www.DavidJoseph.org.
